- Photography is everywhere. It is the main way people share visual stories all over the world. This course will help you become part of that exciting world. Starting from the basics, we will teach you a wide range of photo techniques, from taking amazing portraits to capturing stunning landscapes.
- You will get hands-on experience both on location and in the studio. You will also learn how to edit your photos using the latest software. This course is all about building your technical skills and boosting your creativity.
- You will learn how to use a DSLR camera (we can provide one if you need it) and take photos of all kinds of subjects. It is a fun, social course where you will meet and work with other creative people. Our experienced lecturers will inspire and guide you.
Entry requirements
Small Portfolio of 10 of your images and Evidence of achievement at National 5; Ideally including English and a Creative Subject
or
Successful Completion of Intermediate Certificate: Photographyor
Other equivalent qualifications or experience.There will also be a short skills test at interview to ensure you are applying at the correct level
Learning outcome
Working through practical projects you will improve the following skills: Camera skills, Lighting skills, Editing and Presentation skills.
Working on small group and individual projects will help you build skills for: Planning, Communication, Numeracy, Problem Solving, Team-work and providing Creative Solutions to the kinds of everyday Creative Problems you'll encounter whether self-employed or employed.Progression
