This wide-ranging course will allow you to specialise in two of the major branches of science: chemistry and biology.

Course description

This is a wide-ranging course covering the theoretical and practical aspects of modern sciences. You will specialise in two of the major branches of science – chemistry and biology.

The course also includes a large amount of training in essential practical skills and the use of modern analytical instrumentation of direct relevance to local and national employers.

Scientific communication and presentation skills are also developed, which along with the extensive laboratory skills and scientific theoretical knowledge gained, ensures that our HNC and HND graduates are highly sought after by employers.

Entry requirements

Two Highers in Chemistry and Biology/ Human Biology, plus National 5 Maths at grade C or above (Applications of Maths is not accepted)
If you only have one Higher in Chemistry or Biology, you need a National 5 at grade B for the other

Completion of SCQF Level 6 NC Applied Science – grade B or above (Chemistry/ Biology route)

Completion of SCQF Level 6 Forensic Science & Biotechnology

Completion of Science: Routes to Higher Education – including Highers in Chemistry, Biology and Maths.
